Optional analytics on this website

The public website is separate from the iPhone app. Website analytics start off. If you allow them through the footer Privacy settings, PostHog receives anonymous public page, device, language, referral, App Store click and requested-download events. Microsoft Clarity records public-page scrolling, clicks, errors and session replays. Neither receives tasks, spreadsheet contents, conversations, form values or native app activity.

Decline or withdraw through Privacy settings on every page. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control keep this measurement off. Withdrawal tells both services to stop using analytics storage, clears local analytics identifiers where supported, and stops new consented measurement without erasing data already received. Clarity is always denied ad storage. Read the website processor and data details.

Drifta is an iPhone task app for ADHD, made by Logan, its solo developer. This policy explains what Drifta stores on your device, what its optional features send, and how to manage your data.

What stays on your phone

• The primary copy of every task you create, including its title, notes, time window, and history.
• Your settings: quiet hours, reminder style, focus timer preferences, theme, streaks.
• Coach conversation history saved by the app, and diagnostic logs Drifta writes for troubleshooting. Drifta does not automatically upload these logs; you can choose to share diagnostic information with support.

Drifta does not include a third-party analytics SDK or use an advertising identifier. Drifta's server keeps service usage records to operate the service and analyze its usage, as described below. Optional network features send the information needed to provide the feature you choose.

What can leave your phone

Calendars and Google Calendar (optional)

You choose whether to connect calendars in Settings → Meeting pause. You can use calendars synced to your iPhone after granting Apple calendar permission, or separately sign in to one or more Google accounts. Connecting Google does not require access to your iPhone calendars.

For Google Calendar, Drifta requests read-only access to the list of calendars you subscribe to (calendar.calendarlist.readonly) and their events (calendar.events.readonly). Calendar names and identifiers let you choose calendars for each account. Meeting titles and start/end times appear in Today and help pause task nudges during timed busy events. Drifta does not create, change, or delete Google events. It does not request event locations or other attendees' identities.

Google sign-in happens on Google's sign-in and permission screens; Drifta does not receive your Google password. Refresh tokens are stored in this iPhone's device-only Keychain, and access tokens stay in memory. Calendar labels, identifiers, selections, refresh timestamps, and saved busy intervals are stored locally. Meeting titles are held in memory while the app runs and are not saved. Saved Google busy times can pause reminders for up to 24 hours after a successful refresh; open Drifta to refresh them.

Drifta does not send Google credentials, calendar labels, or meeting titles to its backend, website analytics, or Coach/AI providers. When meeting pause is enabled, merged busy start/end times can be shared with your paired Apple Watch to quiet its nudges. Drifta can also ask its backend to suspend existing task reminders without sending calendar content. Google Calendar data is used for the calendar features you choose, and is not sold or used for advertising or model training.

To remove a Google account from this iPhone, open Settings → Meeting pause and choose Disconnect account under that account. This removes its saved sign-in, calendar selection, and cached meeting data from Drifta on this device. To revoke Google's account-wide permission too, remove Drifta from your Google Account's third-party connections. You can also turn off meeting pause or revoke iPhone calendar permission in iPhone Settings.

Drifta coach

Before the first Coach request, Drifta asks you to allow sharing with Anthropic's Claude through our server. When you allow sharing and send a message, the app sends the following to our backend at brightprompt-hub.onrender.com:

• Your message and recent conversation history, including relevant task-action results.
• Task context such as titles, schedules, completion state, streaks, and reminder preferences, so the coach can give useful suggestions.
• A random device identifier used to create a cloud account, authorize requests, and limit usage. You do not need to provide your name, email, or Apple ID. If you also enable SMS, your verified phone number is associated with this device's cloud account.

Our backend forwards the request to Anthropic's Claude API and returns the reply. It does not persist chat content after returning the response. It does retain usage metadata, including the cloud account and a device hash, request time, model, token counts, and response or safety status, to operate and monitor the service.

Under Anthropic's standard API policy, inputs and outputs are automatically deleted from Anthropic's backend within 30 days, subject to its stated safety, legal, and account-specific exceptions. Anthropic says commercial API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. Drifta does not sell this data.

You can turn sharing off in Drifta's Settings → Coach Privacy. This stops future Coach requests; it does not delete information already sent. Your task lists and reminders still work with Coach sharing off.

Voice capture (optional)

If you use the microphone to add a task, Drifta uses Apple's speech recognition after you grant microphone and speech-recognition permission. Recognition is not restricted to on-device processing, so audio may be sent to Apple for transcription under Apple's speech-recognition privacy terms. You can type tasks instead or revoke these permissions in iPhone Settings.

Apple Watch and widgets (optional)

When you use Drifta on Apple Watch, task titles, completion state, and reminder schedules are shared with the companion app through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. Drifta's widgets and Watch complication use shared app storage to display task information. These features do not send your task lists to Drifta's server solely to display them.

Server push backstop (optional)

If you allow notifications, Drifta may register a random device identifier and Apple Push Notification service token with our backend so a configured deadline reminder can still reach the device. For tasks using that backstop, the backend receives the task title and delivery time needed to build the notification. Apple processes the device token and notification payload to deliver the push. Declining notifications prevents this registration.

The primary copy of your tasks stays on your device. The optional features above and SMS below determine which information is shared; your device's backup settings may also include app data.

Subscriptions

Drifta Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase. Apple handles the receipt and the money. Drifta never sees your payment info. We do not have your name, email, or address unless you write to support yourself.

Notifications

Drifta uses local notifications scheduled on your device for the default reminder experience. If you grant notification permission, Drifta can also use the optional server push backstop described above for configured deadlines. Notification permission is requested only after you add a task or choose Allow Notifications in Settings.

SMS reminders (optional, opt-in)

Drifta Pro also offers an optional SMS feature for overdue tasks with deadlines. SMS is off by default. To turn it on, you install the Drifta iOS app, open Settings, go to the SMS Reminders section, complete a phone verification step where a one-time code is texted to your phone, then turn on the “SMS Reminders” toggle. You must select “Agree & enable” before reminder texts are sent. The verification code is sent when you request it.

Consent disclosure shown in the app, verbatim: “By enabling SMS Reminders, you agree to receive recurring automated reminder text messages from Drifta at the phone number on your account. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help.”

What gets sent when SMS is on:

• Your phone number is sent to Twilio, our SMS gateway, so it can deliver the message.
• The text of the reminder, generated from the task title and time you set. Reminders are short, 1 to 2 sentences.

Drifta does not send your other task lists, notes, or Coach conversation to Twilio to deliver a reminder.

Twilio is a third-party processor. See Twilio's privacy notice. We send Twilio your phone number, the message body, and a status callback URL on our backend so we can record whether the message was delivered.

Our backend stores your verified phone number, consent status, reminder configuration, and delivery records. Reply STOP to a Drifta reminder or turn SMS Reminders off in Settings to stop future reminder sends. Turning SMS off does not itself erase these records, and messages already sent may finish delivery. Contact support for help with deletion. Twilio handles records it has already received under its own retention policies. See SMS reminders for the program description.

SMS opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party for marketing purposes. No mobile information is sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The only party that receives your phone number is Twilio, our messaging provider, and only so it can deliver the message you asked for. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with anyone else for any reason.

Reply HELP to any Drifta SMS to get a one-message reply with support contact info. The reply does not subscribe you to anything.

Children

Drifta is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly use children's data for advertising, profiling, or data sales. Coach, server push, and SMS can transmit data as described above, so a parent or guardian should decide whether those optional features are appropriate. A parent or guardian can contact support@drifta.app to ask about deletion of data held by our backend.

What you can do

• Delete tasks from your task lists.
• Turn off Coach sharing in Settings → Coach Privacy and disable optional SMS reminders in Settings.
• Deleting the app removes its local app storage, but it does not delete server or provider records. A device identifier and authentication token stored in Apple's Keychain can survive reinstallation, and copies in device backups may remain.
• Contact support@drifta.app to request deletion of data held by Drifta's backend. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage that separately in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
• Email support@drifta.app with any privacy question and you will get a reply from me directly.

We update this page when our data practices change. The current effective version is the date at the top.
