Privacy Policy

I'm Logan, the solo developer behind Drifta. Privacy on Drifta is short and almost boring on purpose. Here is what actually happens.
What stays on your phone
- Every task you create, including its title, notes, time window, and history.
- Your settings: quiet hours, reminder style, focus timer preferences, theme, streaks.
- Any crash logs Drifta writes for its own debugging. They never get sent anywhere unless you tap "Copy raw JSON" in Settings yourself.
None of this leaves your device. Drifta does not include an analytics SDK. There is no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Firebase Analytics, no Segment, no internal event ping. Version 1.6 of the app ships with the AnalyticsService disabled at the code level. Every behavioral event call is now a no-op.
What can leave your phone
Only one feature talks to the network: the AI coach. When you tap the coach button and send a message, the app sends three things to our backend at brightprompt-hub.onrender.com:
- Your message.
- The titles and completion state of your current tasks, so the coach can give useful suggestions.
- A random per-device identifier so we can rate-limit coach usage. This is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
Our backend forwards the prompt to Anthropic's Claude API and streams the reply back. Anthropic processes the prompt to generate the response. We do not store the chat after the reply, we do not train models on your chats, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
If you never use the coach, nothing about your tasks ever leaves your phone.
Subscriptions
Drifta Pro is sold through Apple's in-app purchase. Apple handles the receipt and the money. Drifta never sees your payment info. We do not have your name, email, or address unless you write to support yourself.
Notifications
Drifta uses local notifications scheduled on your device for the default reminder experience. They are not delivered through a push server. The app does not require push entitlements for default reminders.
SMS reminders (optional, opt-in)
Drifta also offers an optional SMS escalation feature for task and medication reminders. SMS is off by default. To turn it on, you install the Drifta iOS app, complete a phone verification step where a one-time code is texted to your phone, then go to Settings and toggle "Send me text reminders" on. You will see the consent text below and have to tap "I agree" before any SMS is sent.
Consent text shown in the app, verbatim: "Drifta will text you reminders when tasks are overdue. Message frequency varies based on your task volume, typically 0 to 10 messages per day. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for support. Message and data rates may apply."
What gets sent when SMS is on:
- Your phone number is sent to Twilio, our SMS gateway, so it can deliver the message.
- The text of the reminder, generated from the task title and time you set. Reminders are short, 1 to 2 sentences.
- A short link only when the message variant includes one. The link goes to drifta.app and opens the specific task in your app.
What does not get sent: your other tasks, your notes, your settings, your AI coach chats, any identifier beyond the phone number you verified.
Twilio is a third party processor. Twilio's privacy notice is at twilio.com/legal/privacy. We send Twilio the minimum needed to deliver the message: your phone number, the message body, and a status callback URL on our backend so we can record whether the message was delivered.
Your phone number is stored on our backend at brightprompt-hub.onrender.com only while the SMS feature is on, plus a short retention window for delivery receipts. Reply STOP to any Drifta SMS to immediately revoke consent and stop all future messages. You can also turn the toggle off in Settings, which has the same effect. We do not sell phone numbers, we do not share them with anyone other than Twilio, and we do not use them for marketing.
Reply HELP to any Drifta SMS to get a one-message reply with support contact info. The reply does not subscribe you to anything.
Children
Drifta is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. It is also fine for kids and teens to use.
What you can do
- Delete every task at once in Settings.
- Delete the app to wipe all on-device data.
- Email support@drifta.app with any privacy question and you will get a reply from me directly.
Changes
If anything material changes about how data is handled, this page gets updated and the in-app About row tells you. The current effective version is the date at the top.
