What is inside

The sheet starts with a fictional grocery run so you can see how it works before replacing anything. Edit the lavender cells for category, item, whether it is needed, quantity, unit, estimated unit price, and whether it is already in the cart.

Editable inputsYour items, quantities, units, estimated prices, and cart status.
Visible calculationEstimated total equals quantity times your estimated unit price for rows marked needed.
No invented savingsThe example prices are fictional placeholders. Replace them with your own estimates.

How to use the template

  1. Download the file and open it in an app that supports .xlsx spreadsheets.
  2. Replace the fictional items with what your household needs.
  3. Enter your own quantities and estimated unit prices. The total updates from those inputs.
  4. Mark an item in the cart as you shop, then clear the rows you want to reuse next time.

If you prefer to organize by aisle before adding prices, read the categorized grocery list guide. For a looser food routine, see groceries and meals without a rigid meal plan.
